To reduce the risk of damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and exposure to electrostatic fields, all circuit boards and loose electronic components must always be stored and transported in shielding bags. These bags are specifically designed to create a conductive barrier that effectively dissipates static charges and protects sensitive electronics. Shielding bags should be used for both storage and transport of electronic devices (ESDS) outside an ESD-protected area (EPA). The bags provide electrostatic shielding with E < 10 nJ, are weldable, and are marked with the product name, ESD symbol, recycling symbol, and batch number. The typical surface resistivity Rs for both the inner and outer layers ranges from 10⁹ to 10¹⁰ ohms.
