In today’s advanced electronics production, understanding and controlling the actual ESD environment is crucial, as static discharges and electrical disturbances can cause costly failures, downtime, and quality issues. EM Aware is a powerful monitoring system that provides real-time insight directly during production, such as on an SMT line.

The system includes two to six monitors, each equipped with an antenna placed near the process or object being monitored. The monitors connect to a PC via a data acquisition unit, and the accompanying software allows users to visualize and record static fields and discharges, pinpoint problem areas, and analyze measurement data to optimize processes and reduce risks.

EM Aware provides advanced functionality, including real-time monitoring of static fields and discharges, discharge-time verification to ensure ESD controls operate correctly, and balance checks of ionization equipment to maintain effective charge neutralization. By identifying issues early, the system helps prevent production disturbances, reduce scrap and customer returns, and improve overall process stability. It also saves time and money by providing clear data instead of assumptions.
